The British government has evidently decided that Russian insouciance over what was, in effect, a miniature act of nuclear terrorism on the streets of London, was a provocation too far. The expulsions mark an end to the general coddling of Mr Putin and to the priority that has historically been given to commercial interests in British policy towards Russia. Economist. July 20, 2007.
