1. Lock-in - a situation when switching service providers is prohibitively expensive.
2. The cost of switching from LJ to a standalone blog is the loss of interaction (общение) between friends via comments. Everything else, e.g. entries, friend list, and etc., is transferable.
3. SUP serves posts & comments, and makes money by placing banner ads.
4. LJ users are interested in personal and group interaction, which benefits SUP directly b/c it provides opportunities for ad placement.
5. Accounts with a large number of comments represent the highest business value for SUP. SUP doesn't care about needs of low-comment users.
6. Dilemma:
a) on one hand, we want to interact with our friends in LJ because in many cases it is the only option available.
b) on the other hand, we don't want to interact with our friends in LJ because it causes us to see more and more ads.

7. Solution:
Continue interaction with friends in LJ while avoiding or suppressing banner ads.
